What we can — and can't — claim
We want every page on this website, every quotation and every conversation to be accurate, evidence-based and compliant with UK consumer-protection rules (the CAP Code, the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations and the ASA's guidance on testimonials and trade qualifications).
This page summarises the wording our team is allowed to use, the wording we deliberately avoid, and the evidence we hold to back any specific claim. Anything you read elsewhere on the site should fit within the boundaries set out below — if it doesn't, please let us know and we will correct it.
Insurance
What we can say
- Public liability cover in place — certificate available on request.
- We carry public liability insurance; please ask for a current certificate before work begins.
What we don't claim
- £2M / £5M public liability coverage (specific figures without showing a current certificate).
- Fully insured for any eventuality.
Note: Specific monetary figures are only used where a matching, in-date certificate is on file under /evidence and referenced in the page source.
Workmanship & guarantees
What we can say
- Workmanship cover as agreed in writing in your service agreement.
- Defects in our workmanship are remedied under the terms set out on your individual quotation.
- Manufacturer warranties on supplied products are passed through to you on the manufacturer’s own terms.
What we don't claim
- 12-month / lifetime guarantee (as a blanket promise across all jobs).
- Comprehensive guarantee on everything we do.
- Satisfaction guaranteed.
Note: Cover periods, what is included, and exclusions are confirmed per job in writing — not advertised as a universal warranty.
Trade certifications
What we can say
- We provide certified professionals.
- Regulated work is carried out by individually qualified tradespeople — Gas Safe registered engineers, Part P / NICEIC registered electricians — whose registrations we verify on the public register.
What we don't claim
- We are Gas Safe registered.
- We are NICEIC certified.
- Accredited contractor (without naming the accreditation and registration number).

What we can say

- Feedback from clients is shown with initials only to protect privacy; full references available on request, subject to client consent.
What we don't claim
- 5-star rated (without a verifiable public review profile linked).

- Award-winning (without naming the award and year).

Note: All on-site photography is captioned with subject, service and area, in line with our image alt-text rule.
How we keep this honest
- Every page is run through an automated claims checker before publishing — it flags unsupported statistics, guarantees, insurance figures, regulatory claims and review counts.
- Specific claims are only allowed when a matching evidence document (insurance certificate, registration screenshot, written warranty terms, signed testimonial) is held on file and referenced in the page source.
- Itemised pricing, scope, exclusions and any workmanship cover are confirmed in writing on each individual quotation before work starts.
