    Period Property Rewiring

    Knightsbridge, SW1X8 weeks

    Project Overview

This complete electrical rewiring project in a stunning Georgian townhouse in Knightsbridge presented unique challenges that our specialist team was well-equipped to handle. The five-storey property had original 1920s wiring that was unsafe and insufficient for modern electrical demands. Working closely with conservation officers, we developed a rewiring strategy that minimised visible impact while bringing the property up to current 18th Edition standards. Our electricians carefully routed new cables through existing voids and behind original cornicing, installed period-style brass switches and sockets from specialist suppliers, and added a modern consumer unit with RCD protection. The project included installing dedicated circuits for the kitchen and utility room, adding abundant sockets for modern living, and fitting a comprehensive lighting scheme with dimmer controls throughout. All work was documented for the listed building record.
